Your Day.

As an Accounting Specialist you need to know how to:

• Process AP invoices, including vendor maintenance, payment processing, and sending remittances
• Accurately analyze, prepare and input accounting data into the system
• Act as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies, including high level clients. Handle confidential and non-routine information.
• Work with vendors and department managers to resolve issues related to outstanding invoices and pay applications
• Route invoices for proper approval and GL coding
• Monitor costs for products to spot opportunities for savings
• Order supplies and maintain records on the data base system
• Compile, organize and maintain accurate accounting records
• Audit payroll reports for accurate accounting records
• File and retrieve corporate documents, records and reports
• Answer phones and direct calls. Take messages, field routine and non-routine questions.
• Maintain and update and filing system. Retrieve information from files as needed.
• Sort and distribute mail and faxes. Draft written responses by phone or e-mail. Respond to requests for information.
• Organize and prioritize large volumes of information and calls.

• Knowledge of accounting, general administrative and bookkeeping principles
• Proficiency in MS Office, including ability to generate and interpret spreadsheet data
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and excellent data entry skills- experience with EPR system desired.

• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work independently, as well as a team member
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people
• Proven customer negotiation skills
• Ability to read and write in English and follow verbal instructions
• 3-4 years of experience in a related field
• Experience in medical facility highly desired
