SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Lead is responsible for leading the operation of line equipment for the production of baked goods. The Lead has an eye for quality and adheres to SQF, HACCP, and GMP standards.

• Manages production workflows and appropriate staffing levels.
• Manages the operation of single line equipment from set-up to shut down and sanitation; ensures efficiency and maximizes run capacity and speed.
• Frequently moves, pushes, lifts, packs, stacks, and handles product, baking materials, and equipment.
• Troubleshoots minor mechanical issues with line equipment and partners with maintenance to resolve issues effectively.
• Observes the flow of the production line and identifies where help is needed, stepping into any position to provide support or relief for breaks.
• Assists the Production Supervisor with the training of new team members; continually coaches and ensures the performance of assigned teammates.

Requirements

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to stand and/or walk up to 100% of the time, work in a freezer or ovens area, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work efficiently, exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and good judgement.
• Flexible and comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• The role typically works 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Some Saturdays may be required depending on business needs.
• Previous food production experience preferred, but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This job operates in both a manufacturing plant as well as a warehouse with varying temperatures. 
• While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing in environments with varied temperatures. This position requires frequent pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
