PRESTIGE is Hiring a Dietitian Near Newtown, PA

We are looking for a Part-Time (ON-SITE) Registered Dietitian for our facility in Newtown, PA!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MedicalNutritionTherapy

The RD is responsible for nutrition screening, assessment, diagnosis, intervention,monitoring,evaluation,andplanofcare of individual residents asperAcademy of Nutrition and Dietetics (“AND”)current scope of practice and applicable facility standards, policies and procedures.

Screening: Nutrition Screening in conjunction with Nursing if applicable per facility policies and procedures (i.e. Malnutrition identification via Mini Nutrition Assessment, “MNA”).

Assessment: Completes required nutritionassessmentsperfacility MDS schedule and Section K and other sections as appropriate, along with CAAs as indicated.

Diagnosis: Identify nutrition diagnosis/es (PES – Problems, Etiology and Signs/Symptoms) for individual residents as applicable to determine appropriate nutrition interventions.

Intervention: Make appropriate nutrition recommendations for individual residents that address nutrition problems as identified within the nutrition diagnosis.

Monitoring/Evaluation: follows, documents and revises as appropriate effectiveness of nutrition interventions to ensure intended nutrition outcomes for individual residents.

Regulatory&Safety

Adherestofacilityconfidentiality,HIPAAregulations,andresidentrights’ policies.

Complies with regulatory standards, including federal, state and local accreditingagenciesasevidencedbysuccessfulcompletionofsurveys with no deficiencies.

Participates in facility-wide and department Quality Assurance PerformanceImprovement(QAPI)ProgramandonQAPI teams to improve processes and patient/resident care.

Followsfacilityanddepartmentinfectioncontrolpoliciesandprocedures.

Superviseandassist Dietary Department with food and nutrition program services toensureresident food safety and satisfaction.

Facilitate facility quality control audits as required per facility standards.

Complywithfacility policies and procedures concerning crisis procedures, disaster plan/emergency preparedness,and lifesafety standards.

Completes all mandatory and supplemental training as required by facility.

Teamwork& Communication

Orient, mentor and train staff in Dietary department and facility as it relates to food and nutrition services when appropriate (new employee orientation, in-service education, plan of correction follow-up).

Attend departmental meetings (stand up, stand down, clinical risk, QAPI, wound rounds) as required.

Contribute to resident care plans and attend scheduled care conferences as required.

Monitor facility weights and provide regular communication to IDT concerning weight process to ensure adherence to facility standards (timely admission weights and re-weights, identification of weight discrepancies).

Collaborate with Dining Services Director/Dietary Department concerning resident preferences, allergens and intolerances, menu development, menu substitutions, Diet Order oversight, and meal service as appropriate.

Wellness

Facilitate regular food and nutrition educational programs to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle for all residents within the facility regardless of diagnosis or limitations.

Participate in facility National Nutrition Month activities and other food and nutrition-related focused events to increase overall facility wellness awareness and nutritional status.

Other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics(ACEND)accredited college or university.

Experience

A minimum of 2 (two) years dietitian experience in long-term care strongly preferred.

Experience with MDS data set, PDPM principles and NFPE as required.

Proficiency with Point Click Care electronic medical record platform; similar acceptable.

Ability to operate a standard computer, including basic use of MS applicationssuchasOutlook,Excel,Word, and PowerPoint, as well as use of email and the internet.

Specific Requirements

Registered Dietitian, CDR credential (RD, RDN), active and in good standing, required.

Dietetic Licensure (LDN, LD) for the state where the facility is located, active and in good standing, as required.

Compliance with facility COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by State, Local, and/or Customers.

OTHER SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports and other professional documentation.
