Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling planned and unplanned maintenance to ensue that equipment, parts and systems are operating efficiently.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Prepares efficient and effective work plans for all Preventive, Predictive, Condition-Based, and Project/Backlog Maintenance work and generates work orders.
• Works with the Inventory/Warehouse and Procurement Team to ensure parts are available, ordered and ready.
• Creates procedural manuals that explain how to do certain tasks.
• Estimates time for repair and costs of parts for industrial equipment.
• Coordinates execution of the plan in conjunction with the production schedule through working with the Production Scheduler in a timely manner and adjusts schedules to account for unexpected emergency work.
• When needed, work with technicians to troubleshoot machine breakdowns. 
• Assist and support maintenance manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Computer literacy and proficiency required to work with CMMS software.
• Strong communication, organization, planning and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Must be highly analytical with mechanical, electrical, or technical background with knowledge of PLC and VFD.
• An in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, machines, tools equipment, materials, etc.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
• High School diploma or equivalent required; additional education and is a plus.
