Preferred Primary Care Physicians is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Medical Records Technician to work at our Central Administrative Office in Canonsburg, PA. The ideal candidate will have previous medical records experience, strong computer skills as well as medical coding training, attention to detail traits. This position is full time, hourly non-exempt. M-F daylight hours.

General Purpose of the Medical Records Technician Position:

Responsible for organizing and updating electronic medical records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Medical Records Technician:

• Scan paper documents into patient chart ensuring accuracy with uploads.
• Update flowsheet with test results documented on scanned documents.
• Follow up on test results as necessary to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Reviews interfaced documents with test results and updates flowsheet.
• Assists co-workers as needed to ensure electronic medical records are up to date.
• Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Skills/Competencies:

• Strong computer skills
• Knowledge of business office procedures.
• Knowledge of basic medical coding - ICD-10.
• Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.
• Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system.
• Skill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.
• Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
