We are actively hiring Direct Support Staff (DSS) to support our clients; similar roles in other organizations may be referred to as CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).

Entry-Level Caregiver – No Experience Required

Your role at PFH:

As a Direct Support Staff, you are responsible for providing support to persons with developmental disabilities. You will:

  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, recreational activities, church and/ or community events.
  • Assist client with personal hygiene tasks, cooking, cleaning, other life needs support
  • Ensure the safety of the persons served through practicing emergency drills
  • Implement the individual safety plan

We think you’d be great for this role if you have or can get:

  • High school diploma, or GED, with one-year experience in the field of developmental disabilities
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Physical capacity to perform CPR and first aid interventions

  • Motor vehicle driving record check.
  • Education and license/certification verification (if applicable).
  • Employment and/or personal reference checks.

The physical demands vary depending on the support required by the client. While performing the duties of this job, the associate at times will be required to stoop, bend, use fine motor skills in extremities for cooking, cleaning, medication administration and operation of a vehicle, etc. The associate may be required to assist with physical transfers or lifting, depending on the needed support of the clients.
