Position Summary

Reporting to Quality Manager, the Quality Technician is responsible for the inspection of in-process and finished products, in addition to supporting the efforts of the Quality Department. The Technician is also responsible for the development of metrology methods, gage R&R studies, data analysis ,supporting documentation and other duties as assigned to support the Quality Department. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and as a team, have a strong work ethic, a positive & supportive attitude, with a strong commitment to quality.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • In house knowledge expert of Praxis parts and processes. Train, audit and support others in documented tasks.
  • Ensure production documentation (record sheets) is complete and accurate.
  • Conduct quality reviews of the Device History Record.
  • Responsible for developing metrology methods for part inspection, gage R&R studies, data analysis, and inspection of product.
  • Conduct qualification activities and perform tests according to protocols and procedures.
  • Responsible for the creation of metrology spreadsheets, memos, and reports in support of the quality department.
  • Support the metrology equipment maintenance and calibration programs.
  • Identify, support and/or champion process improvements in metrology areas, such as to decrease inspection time or improve effectiveness.
  • Escalate and assist in the resolution of any discrepancies identified during in-process and final inspection activities.
  • Review procedural documentation for revisions.
  • Support the draft of new inspection procedures, engineering studies, reports and record sheets.
  • Maintain compliance with Praxis’ Quality Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines and apply best practices for on-the-job safety in a production environment.
  • Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes while maintaining an orderly production facility.

What You Bring to This Role

  • Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience 
  • Proven history with CMM and visual measurement systems
  • Demonstrated ability to complete gage R&R tasks 
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate detailed drawings and interpret measurement methods 
  • Demonstrated comfort with statistical techniques 
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks, and to work independently and proactively 
  • Proven attention to detail and focus in an active environment 
  • Proven history working in Microsoft Office, including Excel 
  • Demonstrated comfort with math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and rounding) and geometric concepts (shape, angles)
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with and support all levels of associates 
  • Experience with computer applications and data entry
  • Proven ability to calmly transition between multiple, and changing priorities
  • Proven experience in quality support role working in the medical device, aerospace or related industry 
  • Proven success working in a team environment 
  • Demonstrated experience with manual measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers
  • Experience in production operations, safety, and quality protocols 
  • Proven history working with Quality System Regulation 
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and AS9100 
  • Demonstrated experience applying lean manufacturing principles and/or Six Sigma training 
  • Experience leading and supporting Internal audits 
  • Working knowledge of MasterControl or an electronic QMS 
  • ASQ certification
