The Opportunity: As an embedded software engineer, you know how to create and maintain crucial pieces of software. You use your knowledge to write and optimize code that creates a bridge between pieces of software, allowing them to communicate. We're looking for an embedded software engineer like you to develop technology for our clients' most important mission-forward challenges. As an embedded software engineer at Booz Allen, you'll support the development of systems, sites, and tools for our clients. Using the latest tools and technology, you'll write, test, and edit code in support of the team's overall results. You'll strengthen your skills as you develop and reverse engineer software that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices, as well as configure solutions based on the platform being used. You'll partner with team leadership to troubleshoot and correct operational issues, as well as with cybersecurity specialists to ensure that the software you're creating is secure. You Have: * Experience with programming for embedded Linux, including user-space and kernel-mode sof tware in C * Experience with low-level development, including interrupt handlers, device drivers, controlling peripherals, and reading and writing Flash memory * Experience with porting the Linux kernel to other hardware platforms, including ARM-based platforms * Experience with the creation of Linux packages, including OpenWrt, LEDE, and RPM packages for Fedora and Red Hat * Experience with standing up cross-compilers and building environments for bootstrapping a cross-development environment * Experience with Automake and Autoconf suites * Knowledge of GNU Make * TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph * Bachelor's degree Nice If You Have: * 2 years of experience with embedded sof tware languages and products, including Java, JavaScript, Python, Reverse Engineering, Embedded Platforms, Android iOS, Swift, Wind River VxWorks, IDA Pro, OllyDbg, or Gdb Debugger * Ability to acquire client requirements and resolve workflow problems through automation optimization * Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information ; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
