The Pratt & Whitney Global Security Organization is responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s global security risk management strategy and associated programs and serves as the focal point for security across the organization. This opportunity supports the Global Crisis Management Program in supporting and safeguarding the company’s critical assets – people, sites, products, operations, and reputation – across the world.

The Global Crisis Management Program’s mission is to collaborate with key business partners and customers in building, sustaining, and improving Pratt & Whitney’s capability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from all hazards. We accomplish its mission by four approaches: plan development, training and exercising developed plans, implementing the use of technology for emergency use, and partnership with internal and external partners.

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Crisis Management Services team is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and oversight of the Pratt & Whitney’s Crisis Management Program which drives how we prepare, respond, and recover from emergencies, disruptions, disasters, and crises. The Crisis Management Specialist, under the supervision of the Head of Crisis Management Services, provides operational support and development of Pratt & Whitney’s resiliency efforts and coordinates, plans, develops, and implements emergency preparedness/response processes and procedures. This role includes close collaboration with site teams, functional and service leaders, and enterprise groups.


The position is fully remote and can be based anywhere globally. This position will be expected to support teams / programs in the Eastern US time zone (9am to 1pm M-F) and be available 24x7 on call as applicable for crisis events.


Key Responsibilities:

As a Crisis Management Specialist, you are accountable for the following activities:
Program Organization – 35%

  • Contributes to the strategic design, development, coordination, and implementation of Pratt & Whitney’s Global Crisis Management Program
  • Support in designing a multi-year program strategy and identify maturity and partnership opportunities
  • Assists in the development of training/exercise materials and conducts training to sites, functions, and employees including plan templates, after action reports, metrics/reporting, and guides for tools and processes
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across global sites, functional partners, and cross-business peers
  • Participates in the routine meetings for Emergency Management Team members

Program Management – 35%

  • Supports the management of P&W’s mass notification system; conducts annual tests of the system; training certified users; maintains certification groups and lists; and ensures message templates are up to date
  • Assist sites and functions in the development of emergency management plans and enhancing management of distribution and updates
  • Assists in the planning, coordination, and conduct of training and exercises
  • Develops seasonal disaster readiness, emergency preparedness, crisis management, and safety promotional materials to be shared across the company
  • Maintains the Crisis Management Services intranet sites

Emergency Response/Action – 20%

  • Supports the activation of P&W’s Site Emergency Management Teams and Crisis Management Team during disruptions
  • Supports usage of notification & communication tools during emergencies
  • Supports coordination with Site Emergency Management Teams for response
  • Prepares situational awareness reports during crisis and after-action reports post crisis response

Misc. Duties / Others – 10%

  • Attends professional development training and events
  • Represents P&W at industry events and other meetings
  • Supports research projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or international equivalent in a related field) or equivalent experience and a minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written)
  • Experience and ability to work in a remote environment
  • Strong experience using/supporting the use of a mass notification tool – preferably Everbridge
  • Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft Suite applications – specifically Excel & PowerPoint
  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
  • Ability to work independently with time management skills
  • Experience with project management and/or data analytics


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Professional certification in Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Organizational Resilience, Risk Management, Project Management, and/or other related disciplines
  • Passion for learning about and pursuing a career in crisis and emergency management
  • Ability to manage difficult situations, leverage limited resources and contribute to the design of the Crisis Management Program
  • Strong presentation/facilitation skills and the ability to create dynamic visuals
  • Experience, comfort, and proficiency with public speaking and classroom instruction.

In compliance with Connecticut law, the wage range for this role is $75000 - $161000; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training
