The Pratt & Whitney East Hartford Repair Operations (EHRO) is searching for a hardworking and high-energy Operations Manager (Cell Leader – M4) to lead first shift operations at our East Hartford, CT repair station.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving the organization multi-functionally to meet customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery; work with functional leaders, and internal staff to meet production requirements and assure the cells operate in a productive fashion consistent with changing business needs.
Responsible for all metrics associated with a given business entity: ex. Turn-around-time, financial performance, Environmental Health and Safety goals, and established plans for improvement.
Drive overall production to meet goals, coordinating with Material, Customer Support, Quality, Engineering day-to-day activities.
Lead the establishment and attainment of cell goals in quality, cost, schedule, compliance, and safety. Daily support will also include Technical Functional decision making.
You will be an independent personality who will make multi-functional decisions.
You'll provide effective communication across the cells, and provide leadership development and performance feedback to the shop floor employees
Obtain the necessary resources (equipment, manpower, etc.) effectively to meet long range and near-term goals.
You will also provide mentorship and direction to close gaps multi-functionally
You'll lead productivity projects to reduce cost and cycle time
Advanced degree and 5 years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Military, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Aviation industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience; OR Associate’s degree and 10 years of relevant industry experience; OR an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate and 10 years of relevant industry experience; OR high school diploma and 12 years of relevant industry experience.
U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.
Degree in STEM field; Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering fields preferred.
Technical acumen and experience in production, operations, manufacturing or engineering
Personnel management experience, particularly within a bargaining unit / union workforce environment.
Experience within Disassembly, Assembly and Test (DAT) or Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environments supporting aircraft engines or related products.
Lean manufacturing experience, and/or CORE, ACE, Six-Sigma training.
Experience using Microsoft Office, Solumina, SAP, or similar MRP/ERP systems.
Ability to work with all levels of management and communicate effectively with peers, subordinates, customers and clients.
Knowledge of international trade compliance regulations related to material logistics.
Ability to plan projects and to use written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizations skills to influence business objectives; PMP certification preferred.
