Prager Metis CPAs, LLC is seeking a Senior Tax Manager for our Charlotte, NC location.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

In this leadership role, you will have the opportunity to utilize and continue to develop your analytical, operational, management and client services skills.

With your expertise, you will manage our talented staff and assume the role as mentor to coach staff on various accounting and tax technical issues.

You will also be involved in new client development in partnership with upper management and participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development.

The ideal candidate will be on a partner track.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage the tax compliance process for our Individual Tax practice (1040 returns), partnership, corporate, fiduciary, and tax-exempt tax returns.
• Interact closely with clients year-round to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance services in a timely manner.
• Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing expectations, meeting deadlines, and proactively sharing tax savings strategies.
• Preparation and/or review of tax projections, sales returns, or other tax forms.
• Direct interaction with partners & clients.
• Supervision of Senior/Staff/Associate Accountants in preparing monthly/quarterly/annual closings.
• Manage and facilitate tax audits including responding to tax notices corresponding with auditors and organizing client files.
• Tax research related to more complex tax situations and/or changes in tax law.

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
• 8 plus years’ experience in public accounting or related field, including management of fiduciary, individual and business clients.
• CPA license required.
• Software Knowledge:
  • Highly proficient in CCH Axcess – Prosystem Tax.
  • QuickBooks Desktop & Online.
  •  Outlook and MS Office Programs: Word & Excel.
