Overview

The Sr. Systems Engineer will work with the Infrastructure Director to ensure obligations are met and quality service is provided. Responsibilities include: IT desktop and server support, researching, identifying and recommending IT infrastructure improvements, project management, onsite audio-visual support, provide support for offsite meetings as needed, support physical, virtual, and cloud systems and ensure the highest level of system and infrastructure availability. This position requires in depth knowledge of administering infrastructure technologies and enterprise-wide computer hardware purchasing, imaging, deployment, and shipment. A strong commitment to completing quality, on time and cost-effective projects along with concern for the exactness of work are critical success factors for this role. 

Responsibilities

• Work closely with System Administration team to ensure corporate operating systems are up to date and secure
• Actively monitor ticket SLAs and ensure the team is meeting expectations set by the business and help remediate customer complaints

• Manage the backup and restore process
• Plan, coordinate, and assist with the implementation of network security protocols for hardware and software
• Assist in monitoring network performance and recommend adjustments, corrections and/or changes as necessary
• Work with applicable vendors and internal teams to solve security related issues and make adjustments and/or improvements as needed

• Work with vendors and internal teams to remediate findings from technical security assessments (e.g. vulnerability scans, penetration testing, application assessments, wireless assessments, security and network assessments, and risk assessments
• Support PowerPlan’s strategic initiatives through other responsibilities as assigned
• Assist with the hiring and training of new team members
• Consistently drive improvement efforts in a global team environment
• Assist in Enterprise license true-up & reconciliation and in resolving non-compliance issues

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills and orientation
• 7 years of experience working with Windows software, operating systems, applications, network, and hardware.
• 7 years’ experience managing Microsoft Windows desktop and server (10, 2012, 2016, 2019) environments
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and associated Microsoft domain services
• Office 365 administration experience
• Full stack Cisco Meraki administration
• Firewall administration
• Switch administration
• Wireless Access Point administration
• VPN tunnel administration
• Production experience with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and SCCM
• Migrating servers from on-prem to Cloud
• Utilize Azure AD to implement SSO
• Production experience with Microsoft InTune
• Working knowledge of PowerShell
• Experience with ZenDesk Help Desk software platform
• Knowledge of Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaaS) tools
• VPN, MFA, and O365 MFA administration
• Working knowledge of VMware, HP, IBM, EMC, NetApp and other major vendors of infrastructure technologies
• HP switch administration
• Knowledge of VOIP telephony platforms and call center functionality
• Network troubleshooting and general security forensics analytical skills
• General IT administration
• Ability to work independently, managing multiple task assignments to resolution
• Demonstrates expertise in information technology, security, detailed knowledge of industry trends and regulatory mandates
• Ability to work with little or no supervision after initial briefing
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiples issues and/or projects simultaneously

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT or equivalent
• 7 years of professional experience in working in an IT Infrastructure environment (e.g. Systems Administrator, Sr. Helpdesk Lead, Systems Engineer, etc.)
• 5 years of professional experience in leading IT Infrastructure projects
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team-oriented environment
• Self-motivated, positive, enthusiastic and adapts to changing situations
• Strong organizational and analytical skills; must be detail orientated
• Strong understanding of business systems, infrastructure and information security processes
• Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate strong commitment to internal customers
• Demonstrated ability to work in a high intensity, multi-task environment
