Power3 Solutions and Partnering Companies is Hiring a Project Manager Near Washington, DC

At Argentys, we are dedicated to improving human life through the delivery of biomedical IT services. With a staff that uniquely combines a knowledge of the biomedical domain, with experience in scientific software development. Our goal is to accelerate the passage of research into the clinic.
We have a job opportunity for a Project Manager in our data science team to support the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The job is located in Washington DC. Our team works on Data Science: applying advanced statistics, mathematics, and computer science tools and methods to help FEMA make powerful data-driven decisions on the use of its workforce. We build models and decision support tools in R and R Shiny for the applications such as determining deployments, disaster operation and resource modeling and planning.
The PM will provide task order management support, including project management techniques to
establish control, management, monitoring and notification mechanisms, ensuring that all team
requirements within the project stay on track and milestones and performance measures are met.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, control, and staff the technical, administrative, financial, contractual, and personnel actions as required to perform the contract.
  • Use agile methodologies to manage research projects and lead/facilitate research meetings, distributing meeting minutes and materials for all meetings after.
  • Facilitate and attend weekly status meetings with project stakeholders, the COR, and/or PM at the FEMA offices in Washington DC.
  • Provide monthly status reports (MSR) to COR and Program Manager.
  • Develop Performance Monthly reports for Client and FEMA lead.
  • Manage team monthly timelog tracking system and ensure proper documentation of all scientific projects.
  • Support and assist in daily operations and maintenance that are effective in supporting Scientific program goals and flexible enough to accommodate rapidly changing technologies, instrumentation, hardware and software.
  • Provide ongoing user support, security related support (ATO), training support, and scientific research support.
  • Technical and scientific support to FEMA in its efforts to enhance the development, operations, and management of data science infrastructure and scientific environment.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years’ project management experience, PMP certification is a must.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • Degree or experience in IT/data science is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Must be US citizen
  • Sufficient understanding of software development and data science processes or other relevant issues in order to be credible with contacts with the user community.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Confluence and JIRA software.
