Position Summary:

As a member of the maintenance team, Diesel Mechanics perform maintenance, repair, and inspection work on Pottle’s tractor units.

All of our Technicians must comply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and applicable safety regulations.

Experience / Requirements:

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Vocational Degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year of mechanical experience on heavy trucks or heavy equipment required or equivalent education combined with experience.
• Practical knowledge or training in truck transmission, AC, Electrical, and ABS braking systems repair.
• Must have own tools/toolbox with the basic requirement of tools for the work to be performed.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and means of transportation to/from work.
• A Maine State Inspection License is preferred.

Physical Abilities:

This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time, the ability to use hands or fingers to handle and reach. Requires dexterity sufficient to enter data and communicate electronically. Must be able to hear and speak to communicate sufficiently by telephone and in person, see sufficiently to examine documents, and view a computer monitor. The position also requires the ability to stand, walk and frequently lift up to 75 lbs.
