Overview

Schatz Bearing is a growing aerospace/defense bearing manufacturer seeking a QA Engineer. Applicants must have a background in Quality Assurance in a Manufacturing Environment. Knowledge of ball bearing manufacturing and aerospace is a big plus.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.

Prepare visual aids or training presentations then train employees on key characteristics of product to improve awareness of product quality.

Prepare QOPs in accordance with AS9100 and write or assist in developing work instructions and postings..

Oversee Document Control activities

Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality standards.

Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and measuring & test equipment.

Participate in projects to help ensure processes are effective and consistent and appropriate in meeting customer requirements and other regulations.

Prepare reports and/or communicate significant issues identified during quality activities and provide recommended process improvements to team and management.

Lead and participate in Corrective Action and Preventive Action teams in resolving customer, supplier and production issues.

Lead Inspection team in day to day inspection methods and techniques and disposition any materials and components that are rejected for non-conformance with effective corrective and preventive actions.

Lead and participate in customer flow down/contract review and AS9102 First Article inspection

Participate in audits and assessment of the manufacturing operations, and recommends Corrective Actions and process improvements.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

General Knowledge:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety requirements, procedures, drawings, technical literature, or governmental regulations. Must have ability to write reports, customer responses, and procedures and/or work instructions. Should also have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other disciplines, customers, and suppliers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as geometry and general math. Also, should know SPC, process capability analysis and gage R&R studies.

Reasoning and Problem Solving Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Should have the ability to drive improvement with FMEA, Kiazen, DOE and action groups.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word, Excel and other Microsoft products .

Other Skills and Abilities

AS9100, GD&T, PPAP, FMEA, FAI, Risk Analysis and SPC.
