Position Summary

Poseida is seeking an outstanding candidate to join our Immuno-Oncology team. The Research Associate will support the development chimeric antigen receptors (CAR-T) cellular therapies against cancer, and possibly other disease areas. Primary responsibilities will involve isolation of primary lymphocytes for pre-clinical research and coordination of blood product, and other raw material, inventory, characterization, and testing. Additional responsibilities may include designing and performing experiments, organizing and sharing data, and the coordination of research projects in a highly collaborative team setting, with the assistance of your manager. 

Responsibilities 

These may include but are not limited to:

• Support the development of CAR-T cellular therapies at the preclinical stage 
• Cell separation of T cells and other lymphocytes from human blood products using automated cell processing equipment as well as density gradient centrifugation.
• Perform batch testing, analyze and interpret data to characterize lymphocytes and other raw materials to ensure quality and reproducibility.
• Organize and maintain lymphocyte, and other raw material, inventory through electronic documentation.
• Collaborate inter-departmentally to coordinate characterization of blood product starting material from various sources 
• Ensure timely testing and documentation of blood product donor material.
• Maintain up-to-date protocols for standard procedures and train colleagues as necessary to maintain consistency and quality.
• Communicate experimental results and issues in a concise and timely manner to colleagues.
• Studies may include generation of genetically modified human T cells for product development and/or for understanding product biology 
• Employ and develop different cell-based and FACS-based techniques for in vitro characterization of cell therapy products and starting materials
• Present data (written and oral) in internal and cross-functional meetings, as required

Requirements

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• BS with 0-plus years of experience in the field of immunology, molecular biology, or related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
• Proficiency in multi-parameter flow cytometry and FACS data analysis via FlowJo preferred
• Experience with the characterization, culture, expansion, and manipulation of T cells or CAR-T is preferable but not required
• Previous experience in cell separation technologies (e.g., Miltenyi AutoMACS) and FACS sorting is desired
• Excellent record keeping & data management skills required.
• Ability to organize, communicate, and present complex data sets to key stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent communicator with track record of working effectively as an individual contributor and in teams
