Description

Please note we can support this role as onsite, hybrid or as fully remote. Preference would be some onsite presence at our San Diego headquarters. However we can consider 100% based remote. If fully remote, the states we can consider remote based candidates include: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, Washington, Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

Our cohesive, talented, motivated Human Resources team is continuously looking for ways to positively impact the people and environment at Poseida. By joining our team, you will play a leadership role in defining and managing the overall compensation and benefits strategy in an environment where we share the mission of single treatment cures in cancer and other genetic diseases. You will be a key member of the Human Resources Leadership team and will have the opportunity to influence and lead new and creative compensation design changes and employee benefits to enhance the overall employee experience.

Position Summary

Poseida is seeking an outstanding Total Rewards candidate to join our Human Resources team. Reporting to the Chief People and Administration Officer, you will make an immediate impact advancing our total rewards philosophy and strategy in supporting our current and future team. He/she will partner with functional leaders to ensure programs are rewarding, competitive and aligned with company goals. This individual will also play a critical role in managing the HR Systems to support Global HR data, analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities 

These may include but are not limited to:

As a subject matter expert propose, design and implement industry best practices and lead effective, competitive and fair total rewards programs including:

  • Partner with the CHRO and external comp consultants to design, evolve and align programs, moving from private to public company, for executive and team compensation strategies as best-in-class; lead projects for key compensation initiatives such as compensation structure design and implementation, market benchmarking, career path/ladder formation, and short- and long-term incentive programs, as well as prepare materials for quarterly Compensation Committee meetings.
  • Oversee equity strategy and modeling to ensure our programs are competitive and attract and retain talent and equity grant processes such as analyzing our equity share spend on a quarterly basis are well managed.
  • Conduct in-depth competitive research, analysis, and modeling for compensation programs including annual increase budgets, trends and impacts, equity utilization, ongoing pay equity analysis, and financial impact of incentive design scenarios, using compensation tools and systems.
  • Partner with functional leaders to address rewards, retention needs, and development of total rewards communications and trainings; provide advice on total rewards strategy (e.g. promotions/transfers, job offers, relocations) including policy and guideline interpretation, as well as annual and midyear compensation of base salary and merit analysis benchmarking (position analysis, levelling evaluations, and pricing) and updating ranges and structures.
  • Analyze benefit plan coverage and recommend innovative benefit strategies, policies and programs designed to attract and retain team members.

Provide leadership, coaching, career development opportunities to highly competent Sr. Manager of Benefits.

Provide broad knowledge and support of HR function as a HRBP including:

  • Be a trusted advisor to the team by providing unbiased coaching and counsel to improve individual and team capabilities and enhance manager effectiveness to meet our needs.
  • Lead organizational effectiveness strategies for the business including organization planning, talent assessment, and team building.
  • Offer strategic business partnership, thought partnership, and coaching to members of the organization.
  • Manage and facilitate successful delivery of the overall Performance Development System.
  • Foster a cohesive, collaborative, and fun workplace.

Requirements

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • BS degree with a minimum 10 years of hands-on total rewards, compensation and benefits experience with demonstrated progression in responsibility in a fast-paced, growth environment (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Deep knowledge of executive and non-executive compensation programs including equity planning and practices, base salary, variable pay and performance management, job evaluation, data analysis, research and predictive and project modeling.
  • Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on key insights, trends, issue identification and recommendations.
  • Previous management experience. Demonstrated experience with mentoring and coaching others.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude, creative, flexible and consultative; strong sense of business needs and making decisions based on data and emerging priorities; high integrity and accountability.
  • Ability to listen and use critical thinking to assess the needs and communicate accurate information concerning process, plans and procedures in a collaborative, team-based manner.
  • Detail-oriented, proven ability to track, prioritize and drive to success multiple concurrent projects by analyzing data and driving sound decision-making.
  • Thrives in and enjoys a collaborative team setting and is driven by a desire to be innovative in a high energy, growing company environment.
  • Experienced in Paylocity highly preferred
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive, proprietary and confidential information appropriately
  • Life Sciences experience preferred
