POSITION SUMMARY:

Develop, coordinate, and implement the provision of evidence-based practices across all clinical programs to ensure clients receive quality care and staff receive consistent training and clinical supervision to improve client experience and the effectiveness of clinical services. Develop and implement programs to support staff development of effective clinical skills to treat mental health and substance use issues across all ages. Standardize training and clinical supervision practices across departments. Develop and maintain partnerships with area educational partners and administer a robust clinical internship program at PSS to include associates/peers, bachelors, masters and doctoral students.

VITAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, coordinate and implement a comprehensive evidence-based training plan across all clinical programs in the organization.
  • Track all evidence-based practices utilized by clinical staff in the organization, insuring ongoing practice, training and supervision occur with fidelity to the model.
  • Research, develop, implement, and/or conduct evidence-based training and educational programs for clinical staff to broaden their skillset of utilizing evidence-based practice to treat mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Include cultural competency and implicit bias reduction training to clinical staff to increase awareness and acknowledgment of differences in language, age, culture, socio-economic status, political and religious beliefs, sexual orientation and gender identity, and life experiences.
  • Communicate with community partners and organization directors to identify community treatment and training needs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant educational and occupational training partners to increase quantity and quality of applicants for internship and employment opportunities.
  • Optimize training practices for new hires to reduce non-productive time and increase consistent attainment of productivity goals.
  • Coordinate and track professional development and continuing education for clinical staff to ensure training is consistent with agency policies, community needs, and overall agency goals.
  • Coordinate the Behavioral Health Academy and associated internship applications, interviews, selections, and placement
  • Research and coordinate a plan for PSS to be an APA approved internship site.
  • Provide individual and group supervision as needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings of clinical supervisors to identify and address training and supervision issues.
  • Communicate well, be responsive, and engage positively with other divisions in the organization and with community partners.
  • Provide direct care, as needed on a very limited basis.

COMPETENCIES

  • Comprehensive understanding of psychiatric and substance use disorders and application of evidence-based clinical approaches across age and diagnostic spectrum
  • Clinical supervision, training and development skills with bachelors-masters-doctoral level staff
  • Project management and implementation skills
  • Maintains strong clinical and ethical standards of practice.
  • Written and oral communication skills appropriate to students, clinical staff, academic and community partners.
  • Conveys a positive attitude and collaborative style with organizational staff, students and community partners.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record and excellent clinical documentation skills
  • Proficient use of computer and virtual communication tools

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree or doctoral degree in Clinical Social Work, Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field is required.
  • LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or HSPP is required.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience with various populations including children, adolescents, adults, groups and families.
  • At least 3 years of experience providing clinical supervision and training to staff.
