Responsibilities/Qualifications:

Homestead manages a senior living facility in West Bloomfield

We are looking to grow our team with those who share our passion and enthusiasm by providing the best experience for our residents. As a caregiver, you have the opportunity to provide physical and emotional support to our residents who are elderly, disabled, or recovering from an illness. Additionally, it allows you to develop valuable skills such as patience, empathy, and communication.

Hard work pays off, and we're here to prove it! Complete 90 days with us and you will receive a $1 increase in your pay as a reward! Just one of the many perks of being a valued member of our family.

Our facility is near Maple and Drake in West Bloomfield. If the location is within 15 minutes from your home, please apply!

We currently have first and second shifts open, 8am-4pm, 12pm-8pm. We do not have midnights at this building. We are starting our caregivers at $15.

Your responsibilities will be:
  • Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, incontinence care, and adequate nutritional intake
  • Respond to resident call lights and assisting them with their needs
  • Light housekeeping
  • Observe and document changes in residents mental and physical health so everyone is familiar with their health status
  • Follow the assignment sheet/service plan performing tasks that are assigned so nothing is overlooked
  • Professionally and respectfully communicate with families, support services, and coworkers
  • Provide team members with assistance in completing their duties.
  • This role is required to comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures
Requirements:
  • A positive attitude and ability to arrive on time for every shift
  • Applicant should be able to pass a criminal background check
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • At least 18 years old
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Should be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Every other weekend is required
