Major Responsibilities
1. Assist the external auditors in the audit of the financial institution and its pension plan.
2. Assist the federal examiners in their examinations.
3. Assess the risks in each area of the Credit Union, and recommend areas for review based on the risk assessment.
4. Prepare an annual audit plan to ensure that each risk area of the Credit Union is audited or addressed. (Required audits include STAR, NACHA, Fedline, Bank Secrecy Act, and OFAC.)
5. Perform internal audits and operational reviews.
6. Develop audit work programs to address the identified risks in each area.
7. Supervise and train the internal audit staff.
8. Report to management the results of the audit testing.
9. Manage the Quality Control function that focuses on loan originations and Fannie Mae compliance.
Qualifications
1. BS in accounting required with Advanced degree (CPA or MBA) preferred.
2. Experience managing an audit staff.
3. Experience in risk assessment and the development of work programs.
4. Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate, both verbally and in writing.
5. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
6. Experience auditing a financial institution (cash, investments, lending, loan servicing, deposits, check processing).
7. Ability to work with other departments in a constructive manner that supports PFFCU’s values of member service, teamwork, commitment, and performance.
