Inside Sales Representative

SUMMARY

The Inside Sales Representative will work closely with outside sales, purchasing, and the shipping department to provide excellent customer service to our customers. They will assist our customers in all areas of order entry, changes, problem resolution, communication of pricing and follow-up to ensure the customer is satisfied. Communicate to customers primarily through email, telephone, and fax.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Receive, review and input customer orders.
  • Provide prompt service to phone calls, faxes, and e-mails.
  • Expedite orders through coordination with purchasing and the warehouse.
  • Confers with purchasing and warehouse personnel to determine product availability, cost, and lead- time requirements, when necessary.
  • Give Customer price quotations and process credits.
  • Respond to Customer emails in a timely manner.
  • Keep appropriate departments informed of customer requirements and problem areas.
  • Follow-through to resolve customer complaints.
  • Introduce new items to customers and promotes product to increase sales volume.
  • Review schedules, releases and enter orders on a timely basis.
  • Maintain and expand upon current customer relationships.
  • Assist and provide technical support to customers as needed.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.

  • Previous Inside Sales or Customer Service experience. Industrial Distribution preferred.
  • Excellent telephone skills with the ability to work with others.
  • Ability to read and interpret written forms of communication.
  • Order entry and order tracking experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, E-mail, and internet
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, and motivated to follow through to closure.
  • Ability to multi-task many projects at once, prioritize and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to get up frequently to retrieve documents, including from the warehouse.
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
