Sea Alaska is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near Seattle, WA

Job Title: Senior Accountant Job Summary: The Senior Accountant will perform account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit requests, leading month- and year-end close, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.The Senior Accountant has solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, strong financial analysis skills, and highly organized. The Senior accountant is collaborative, values integrity, is a self-starter who is able to set goals and objectives with little direction in a fast-paced and changing environment. The person in this role communicates clearly and concisely to financial and non-financial colleagues, both orally and in writing. Questioning the status quo by offering thought-provoking and creative solutions to improve accuracy and increase efficiency is key to the Senior Accountant's success.This remote role will be located in the Seattle area, only local applicants will be considered.Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manages month- and year-end closing and routine financial reporting.
  • Prepares and reviews account reconciliations.
  • Manages general ledger processes, approves batches, makes/approves journal entries, reviews accuracy of journal entry postings.
  • Manages budgeting/forecasting process.
  • Reviews general ledger to ensure financial statement accuracy.
  • Coordinates/prepares accounting schedules and provides documentation requested by external auditors.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Broadly applied software including Microsoft Office Suite, advanced knowledge using Microsoft Excel, experience is a must.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priority.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and provide reports on a timely basis.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) or equivalent in Finance or Accounting.
  • Three to five years of general accounting experience.
  • REQUIRED: Project accounting experience, ideally in construction or engineering industries.
  • Vista, Sage, Deltek or other mainstream project-based ERP experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and Project Accounting.
Preferred: * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
