Plug Power Inc is Hiring a Software Engineer - Transportation Near Rochester, NY

Pay Rate: $62,700.00 - $94,050.00 Software Engineer - Transportation *Remote Opportunity!* Status: Exempt (salaried) Department: Transportation Engineering Position Summary The Software Engineer will be responsible for programming and validation of hydrogen fuel cell system control software for transportation-focused applications. The selected candidate will develop and maintain application software (ASW) components. The candidate will also develop test stand control software and tools used by lab test operators as-needed, such as test-specific algorithms and ECU / control system interfaces. Finally, the candidate will also help develop and execute validation tests to successfully demonstrate compliance with regulatory safety standards, including defining requirements; develop test cases; and program unit and/or integration test implementations. The Software Engineer must have experience or undergraduate educational background in programming. Knowledge of either manual embedded code development (C/C ) or Model-Based Design (Simulink autocode) paradigms are required. Experience with typical software development tools and workflows is desired, such as Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), Git, CI/CD, DevOps. Experience with modeling and simulation-based development methods (MIL/SIL/HIL) is a plus. Working knowledge of automotive industry methods and tools is a plus. The successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate with cross-functional team members to ensure activities are correctly coordinated among adjacent engineering groups. The successful candidate must also possess strong interpersonal skills; and be willing to continuously learn new skills and adapt within a fast-paced engineering organization. Full-time remote work considered on a case-by-case basis according to candidate skills and company needs, however candidates with the ability for hybrid / on-site presence may receive priority. Occasional travel may be required according to company needs and customer project deliverables. Core Duties and Responsibilities Develop fuel cell control ASW Develop individual control algorithms using C/C and/or model-based design tools (Simulink etc.) as required Utilize simulation-based test environments for development (MIL/HIL/SIL) Use system-level requirements to create software requirements Produce algorithm functional description documentation Develop unit and integration tests for requirements coverage and code coverage Produce ISO-26262 compliance test artefacts Assist with ECU integration activities, including BSW configuration, target binary build, and generation of ancillaries such as A2L files Effectively communicate, share, and coordinate with other engineering stakeholders to ensure overall organizational goals and customer needs are being met Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members Demonstrate high standards of professionalism with an uncompromising dedication to quality Desired Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or other relevant technical field of study 0-5 years of relevant work experience Experience developing embedded software using C/C or model-based design tools (Simulink etc.) Experience developing AUTOSAR (Classic) compliant SWC functions is desired, especially migration of legacy non-AUTOSAR legacy applications to AUTOSAR Familiarity with automotive industry controls development tools from vendors such as dSPACE, ETAS, Vector Knowledge of automotive industry standards such as CAN/LIN, UDS, XIL API, CCP/XCP, MDF, etc. Experience with software validation test methods and tools such as VectorCAST/C , VectorCAST/QA, dSPACE AutomationDesk, SYNECT Teamwork oriented and focused Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality Must be driven and self-motivated We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below: ✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
