VIRTEX provides electronic manufacturing services to original equipment manufacturers including Design & Engineering services, Printed Circuit Board Assembly & Test, System Integration, Test Development, Custom Cable & Wire Harness Assembly, and Precision Machining.
Job Description - Quality Inspector 2
o Reporting structure:
• Reports to the Quality Control Manager
o Overall position description:
• Inspect the following for defects and document and report them to the Supervisor:
• Printed Circuit Boards
• Cable Assemblies
• Mechanical Assemblies
o Essential functions of the job:
• Inspect SMT solder, components, and polarity
• Inspect Through Hole solder, components, and polarity
• Inspect Cable Assemblies length, crimping, and pin out
• Inspect Mechanical Assemblies Hardware, labeling/marking
• Document defects on applicable forms (Trouble Sheet, etc.)
• Report defects to Supervisor
• Complete applicable forms (Traveler, etc.)
• Assist in the training of Quality Inspector 1 employees
• Lead Quality Control department in the Supervisor’s absence
o Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Read, write, and speak English
• Working knowledge of electronic components
• Read and interpret drawings, BOM’s, work instructions
• Understand and execute instruction from the Supervisor
• Clearly communicate defects on applicable documentation
• Use Vision aids (microscope, ring light, etc.)
o Required education and experience:
• Prefer a high school diploma or two years’ experience as a Quality inspector in the electronics industry
• IPC-610 (latest revision) with in 1 year of new releases
o A description of the physical demands:
• Sufficient eyesight to identify defects using visual aids
• Use microscope for 8-hour shift
• Use ring light for 8-hour shift
• Sit at work station for extended periods
• Able to lift and carry 25 pounds
o A description of Safety Requirements.
