The Community Health Educator develops and facilitates sexuality education and programming to youth, parents, and adults in a variety of community settings. They're responsible for engaging young people in sexual health and advocacy programs that provide the tools to help them make lifelong responsible decisions. The Community Health Educator builds and maintains relationships within the community, schools, and other local and state agencies to bring about an awareness of PPSAT services and promote educational programming. Who You are: Passionate about education. Passionate about reproductive health care and justice. Believe sexual health is essential to every person’s overall health, well-being, and happiness. You enjoy designing and developing education/training programs. Excited about developing a team of strong peer educators. Experience working across a diverse service area. What You'll Do: Coordination of peer education programs dependent on community need and funding. Initiate and develop relationships with community organizations, schools, and faith communities. Recruit, interview, hire and train Peer Educators. Design, develop, and provide culturally relevant education/training programs related to adolescent health and social issues for Peer Education Training. Plan and conduct weekly trainings. Translate and adapt curricula. Coordinate collection and submission of evaluation data. Serve as liaison between Planned Parenthood South Atlantic (PPSAT) and partner organizations. Provide community education and outreach as needed. Attend PPSAT community coalition and council meetings as assigned. Manage and maintain the education department database. Report on monthly and quarterly education data as needed and requested. Weekly hours can vary depending on educational programs and projects. Hybrid work schedule (on-site and remote) Compensation: PPSAT's compensation philosophy is based in equity and transparency. This position's minimum pay rate is $20.20 an hour. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate's experience and internal equity within the pay grade.
