Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties is Hiring a Systems Administrator Near Anaheim, CA

Overview

Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino County is looking for a full-time Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team located in Anaheim,CA. 

The Systems Administrator’s role is to monitor, troubleshoot, implement, and support technical systems and operations. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues as part of the overall effort to provide the highest quality service in support of the organization’s administrative and health care functions. This role will provide 2nd tier technical support for core systems and applications, though may be called on to cover 1st level support as needed. The Systems Administrator will participate in design and implementation for core technical projects and may lead the development and implementation of specific projects or platforms.

Primary duty is to maintain and implement security layers to protect the usability and integrity of company’s network and data. It includes both hardware and software technologies. Other duties include maintaining but not limited to Active Directory, Exchange, file sharing, VMware virtual servers and desktops, storage.

This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues as part of the overall effort to provide the highest quality service in support of the organization’s administrative and health care functions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years in VMware virtual servers and desktops, zero and thin clients.
  • Minimum of 3 years in Microsoft server platforms and troubleshooting core software applications such as AD, GPO, DHCP, DNS, IP, MS Servers.
  • Minimum of 3 years in network/systems administration/security.

Preferred:

  • Experience in system/network security is a major plus.
  • Experience with SAN is a major plus.
  • Experience with Cisco phone system, routers, switches and firewalls is a major plus.
  • Experience with PC operating systems.
  • Strong grasp of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Skills and/or experience with application and services delivered via web technologies.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, implementation, and support of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • IT Certifications such as VCA, VCP, CISSP, CEH, S , MCSA, MTA, and CCNA Security is a major plus.
  • BS in computer science or related field preferred or a proven combination education and/or experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide 2nd Tier (1st tier as needed) support for desktop, server, storage and network systems.
  • Participate in the design, planning and implementation of projects.
  • Administration of VDI and virtual server environments.
  • Actively monitor the health of core systems, networking equipment, and Unified Communications.
  • Provide review and oversight of critical procedures such as account creation, backup jobs, and server patching to ensure requirements for effectiveness and security are being met.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Prepare detailed documentation of systems, services, applications, security, and controls.
  • Assist in the planning, design, and development of new application and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Provide transitional support during the development and implementation of a simplified client computing platform to deliver a more reliable, accessible, and easier to use environment.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Assist in preparing detailed documentation of systems, services, applications, security, and controls.
  • Assist with maintenance and operations of disaster recovery.
  • Assist in the planning, design, development of new application and enhancement to existing applications.
  • Travel between Orange and San Bernardino Counties locations for support.
  • Work with Systems Operation’s team members and assist them with troubleshooting or different technical tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
