Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho (PPGWNI) is on the lookout for a motivated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our Yakima clinical team! In this role, you’ll be given opportunities to grow and advance in your medical career and make a tremendous impact on the lives of our patients. At Planned Parenthood, Medical Assistants work side-by-side with our clinicians to provide direct patient care, and lead many dimensions of care and service delivery.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours/week) working Monday through Saturday.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

• Set patients up in exam rooms and conduct intake, including vitals monitoring, health history, and an overview of patient needs.
• Provide patients medically-accurate and unbiased education on a wide range of health topics, including infection transmission and treatment, birth control options, pregnancy, and more.
• Conduct health screenings.
• Maintain accurate and consistent attention to detail, including processing labs, specimen handling, lab equipment, appropriate and legible written or typed chart documentation.
• Safeguard the privacy and protected health information of patients in compliance with law and PPGWNI policies. Completely understand confidentiality and HIPAA and consequences of non-compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited school or program.
• Completion of high school education or its equivalent (GED)
• A demonstrated commitment to PPGWNI's mission statement. 
• Superior customer service and teamwork skills. 
• Flexibility in work schedule included.
• Travel to other health centers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Work experience in Phlebotomy.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish
• Self-motivated and strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask. 

Travel

• Required up to 25% of the time to various PPGWNI health centers.
• Valid unencumbered driver's license, proof of insurance, and personal vehicle required.
• Travel will be reimbursed and time spent traveling is paid.
