Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

The Senior Architect will be responsible for managing and developing a small group of architects and engineers. In addition, you will also prepare architectural designs, render detailed drawings, conduct quality assurance, and quality control (QA/QC), and perform team architectural and engineering reviews before the presentation to the client.

This position will be based in our Orlando office.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide technical review and oversight of the design-build process for a new, large-scale facility
• Provide an architectural review of the design to support the achievement of all client objectives including local codes, aesthetics, and geotechnical conditions
• Support the design approval process, recommends design changes to improve design value and constructability
• Assists the client with review and approval of contractor’s submittals
• Ensures that designs are within federal and local codes concerning health, safety, and environment of real property facilities
• Support quality assurance and quality control of contractor works
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and disposition of government documentation requirements
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

 Qualifications To be successful in the role: 

• Degree in Architecture from a program certified by the National Architecture Accrediting Board
• Must be a Registered Architect in FL or a Certified NCARB
• More than 10 years experience in facility and infrastructure design
• Previous experience working on US Government and military domestic and international projects preferred
• Must be hands-on on or proficient in using AutoCAD or Revit
• Has solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills; strategic planning, collaborative and has ability to interact with all levels of management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be willing to travel for occasional international assignments
• Eligible to obtain a secret clearance
