PLANAR SYSTEMS INC is Hiring an Electrical Hardware Engineer Near Corvallis, OR

NaturalPoint is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop new hardware products, as well as help maintain our current set of products.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Interface with engineering and application engineers to define product specifications.
  • Research and select components to achieve appropriate functionality
  • Develop PCB and FPGA designs to implement the desired functionality.
  • Interface with Firmware, Mechanical, and other Electrical engineers to achieve product goals
  • Interaction and guidance to SMT assembly and production assembly / testing
  • Learn about legacy products and assist production, support, and sales.
  • Document design specifications, BOM’s, ECO’s, and process instructions.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • BSEE with 5 years electronic product development.
  • Digital and analog PCB circuit design.
  • PCB layout, Mentor and/or Cadence
  • Multiple clock domain FPGA implementation and debugging, Verilog and VHDL, Xilinx, Lattice
  • PCB prototype debugging, using standard test equipment
  • Interactive ECAD / MCAD design
  • Production failure analysis
  • Regulatory compliance (FCC, CE, UL, etc)

Bonus Points for Experience with:

  • CMOS imagers / vision processing
  • RF modules / protocols (eg., 802.15.4)
  • Inertial Measurement Units
  • Ethernet, PoE, USB, I2C, SPI
  • High power LED strobes
  • LTspice
  • Microcontroller and peripheral programming
