Planar Systems is Hiring a Chief Financial Officer Near Hillsboro, OR

We are seeking an experienced executive leader to serve as Chief Financial Officer for our organization. The level of candidate experience will be determined through the assessment process. The CFO will be responsible for all aspects of financial operations of Planar and its subsidiaries and related affiliates in Europe, as part of a global organization. The CFO will be a member of the international business group executive team, reporting to the IBG CEO, who will have the responsibility to identify strategic opportunities and drive strong business results within the organizations this team manages. To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong work ethic, proven ability to drive results, experience managing a high-performing team, an eye toward process improvement, and the ability to work effectively with other executive leaders, customers, affiliate organizations, and international business groups as part of this dynamic and growing technology manufacturing organization.

What you'll do: 

  • Serve as an executive leader in the company who is strategic and forward-thinking, demonstrating a passion for driving strong business results in partnership with other management team members locally and throughout the global organization.
  • Bring to light and manage significant financial and other risks and related opportunities.
  • Act with a customer-centric approach in partnership with sales to get deals done.
  • Assess, evaluate, and propose solutions concerning the operational and financial performance of each company department and division.
  • Oversee and deliver accurate financial information in an efficient and timely manner to ensure sound business decisions and compliant reporting. Maintain and deliver financial forecasts and lead yearly planning.
  • Make necessary changes to the organization’s financial systems to enhance and improve processes, policies, and procedures with an eye toward real time reporting, growth, and automation.
  • Adeptly communicate with, influence, and in some cases directly manage, the activities of financial teams in related international group affiliates; provide timely reporting and information to the company’s ultimate parent. Understand how to drive business results in the context of a global manufacturing organization.
  • Ensure sound financial management and proper financial controls are in place; oversee the annual financial audit.
  • Establish financial strategic vision, objectives, policies, and procedures in support of the overall strategic plan.
  • Participate in review and negotiation of acquisitions, joint ventures, and significant company transactions.

What you'll need to bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a closely related field required. Master of Business Administration or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years of experience in an executive role.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing company preferred.
  • Experience working as part of a global organization preferred.
  • Proven experience to engage in strategic planning and execution and to drive strong financial results.
  • A collaborative leader with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence other teams and leaders across the organization.
  • Willingness to coach and mentor employees, understand diverse perspectives, build solid team leaders, and balance the job of providing high-level strategic leadership with being a hands-on contributor toward the department and organization’s success.

Posting Location: Portland, OR Metro Area

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range

$250,000 to $325,000. (DOE)

This position will be eligible for additional commission or bonus programs.
