PISON is Hiring a Technical Program Manager Near Boston, MA

Job Summary:

This role will act as project manager/scrum master to multiple teams of 5-8, and work with internal & external stakeholders. Assist the Director of Technical Program Management in all aspects of project management including project planning, data gathering, analysis, development, communication, status tracking, implementation, monitoring, and follow-up. Coordinate project activities with and communicate to key project stakeholders. Track the progress of project(s), including milestones, budget, action items and issues. Develop project work breakdown structures following a project management life cycle methodology. Design and implement Project templates and filters for project plan tracking and reporting. Analyze master project plan(s) for conflicting tasks, timeline consolidation, and resource allocation. Design and distribute templates to facilitate project tracking, change control, metrics, and issue decision management. Follow-up on project issues with project manager(s) to assist in the development of solutions. Follow through on action items generated from project team meetings. Assist in technical, financial, and organizational issues by researching issues, and providing recommendations. Act as liaison between various stakeholders, departments, outside agencies, or collaborators, providing status reports and data analysis and ensuring flow of communication between groups. Perform ongoing maintenance of the project knowledge base and PMO document archives. Recommend and develop operational and process improvements for the performance and successful functioning. Ensure project work complies with practices, policies and standard operating procedures Participate in required meetings, activities, and related projects and relevant interdepartmental activities. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May recruit, interview, and/or train new team members as needed. Future supervisory opportunity contingent on further team growth.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement MS-Project templates and filters for project plan tracking and reporting
  • Analyze master project plan(s) for conflicting tasks, timeline consolidation, and resource allocation
  • Design and distribute templates to facilitate project tracking, change control, metrics, and issue decision management
  • Follow-up on project issues with project manager(s) to assist in the development of solutions
  • Follow through on action items generated from project team meetings

  • Perform special projects as requested by supervisor

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience working in a full software development lifecycle
  • Prior experience working with ENG Hardware teams
  • Understands Agile methodologies (at least 1 year of exposure)
  • Excellent written and communication skills demonstrated by process and tools
  • Experience working in a cross functional/matrix organization
  • Proven ability to adapt well and work with different teams within the organization
  • Experience with JIRA or Microsoft project is preferred

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 2-3 years TPM experience or a combination of relative experience
  • Certified Scrum Master Required
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) - Project Mgmt. Institute preferred
