JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating inventory to ensure optimum inventory and efficient distribution of supplies, materials, and equipment. Receives, issues, inventories and stores supplies, materials and equipment. Performs various processing tasks and manual duties requiring familiarity with the supply and/or property operations.

TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  •  Requisitions, receives, stores and distributes supplies, materials, property and equipment.
  • Verifies receiving receipts, bills of lading and packing slips against purchase and order requisitions; Gathers and compiles information regarding the issue and delivery of items;
  • Posts supply and property information to logs and ledgers and maintains documentation on computer files;
  • Ensures that perishable items are stored properly;
  • Ensures proper handling, labeling, and transport of medical products, specimens, etc.; Receives supply requisitions and fills orders;
  • Maintains and conducts inventory of supplies on hand; Issues and delivers supplies, property and equipment;
  • Maintains reorder point records for and reorders supplies when minimum balance is reached; Provides information in response to inquiries concerning orders placed, received and/or delivered; Operates delivery vehicle and other materials handling equipment;
  • Lifts and removes heavy boxes and items from shelves and bins;
  • Prepares purchase requisitions and maintains file and records of transaction on computer;
  • Process materials, add them into inventory, and rotate and remove expired supplies. 
  • Arrange for pickup and disposal of expired and no longer used materials. 
  • Input and track requisition data, inspect shipments for damages, correct quantities, and comply to requisition specifications. 
  • Make deliveries and other duties as necessary on a daily basis.
  • Complete special projects as assigned including inventory of materials and fixed assets. 
  • Maintain process back order database, inventory, spreadsheets, and books.
  • May handle cash.
  • To promote and adhere to the workplace values of accountability, commitment, and teamwork to help enrich lives beyond expectation.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records and restricted County information.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES: 

  • Receive, handle, and transport hazardous materials
  • Monitor temperature and properly handle vaccine inventory.
  • Cash handling for clinic /vital records locations
  • Facilitates the ordering and purchasing of medically sensitive and perishable items
  • Hazardous material disposal

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • Two (2) years of work experience in ordering, purchasing, receiving, stocking and shipping.
  • Valid Arizona State Driver’s License.
  • Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of ordering, receipt, storage, inventory control and distribution of supplies, materi applications of automated information systems;

  • Knowledge of purchasing and requisitioning procedures.
  • Knowledge of facility safety, emergency and security procedures.
  • Skill of following verbal and written instructions.
  • Skill of storing, inventorying, distributing and receiving supplies, materials, property and equipment.
  • Skill of operating a vehicle and various types of office and materials handling equipment.
  • Skill of maintaining effective working relationships with vendors and staff.
  • Skill of stocking and rotating stock, especially date sensitive supplies and materials.
  • Skill of entering information into and retrieving information from a computer data base.
  • Skill of verifying supplies, materials and equipment received against order documentation.
  • Knowledge of basic shipping and receiving practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of basic record keeping practices and customer service standards and protocols.
  • Skill in operating computer systems and basic software applications.
  • Ability to provide effective customer service and deal tactfully and courteously with the public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. The work also requires the ability to finger, handle, reach, grasp, perform repetitive motion, kneel, lift, pull, push, speak, hear, stand, stoop, walk, operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment, and demonstrate visual and mental acuity.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires the ability to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs. May handle, store, deliver, and dispose of hazardous materials.
