Description: Pidoxa’s Technology Infrastructure Provider team manages infrastructure for mid-tier and small business partners who can’t afford to do business with Big Tech, can’t run in the public Cloud, or want a more full-service network management approach.
In this position you will:
Be responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, systems, and clusters of systems.
Administer system applications and ensure servers are maintained to optimize connectivity, reliability, and throughput.
Work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment
Support multiple unique projects occurring at the same time.
Communicate resources and actions across multiple clients/stakeholders and internal engineering teams.
Must be able to work in a production/operational environment
Build consensus among peers and build effective team relationships
This position may occasionally require after-hours or weekend work.
Candidate must have a good understanding of Linux, ideally with experience on both Debian or Ubuntu, and a RedHat-compatible distro. Candidate must have a strong foundation in virtualization and containerization technologies, ideally with experience with VMware, Docker, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes (k8s). Experience with Nomad, Terraform, and Vault is preferred. The candidate will have a firm understanding of IPv4 and IPv6, as well as running services and systems securely.
A sample day consists of reviewing security/system logs with our Security Engineer, monitoring hardware, verifying backups, working with clients and developer teams to deploy updates and new software, monitoring the clustering technology, and resolving issues with systems as they arise.
