Washington, District of Columbia Job Description We are seeking an experienced paralegal to support our Washington DC office. Primary responsibilities include: researching, reviewing and supporting company mergers, acquisitions, and dissolution processes according to state regulations; reviewing, tracking, and monitoring legislation that impacts the firm’s processes; updating partners with timely analysis and summaries of new state legislations/regulations; assisting in implementing changes to contracts; support related to litigation, mediation, arbitration, and responses to complaints; renewing and maintaining company licensing; drafting, filing and managing various business entity documents for corporations, LLCs and partnerships with State agencies; drafting legal contracts, correspondence and other documents; researching company financial holdings; creating company stock certificates according to closing documents; special duties as assigned. The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree (paralegal certificate a plus), at least five years of legal administrative experience, be highly organized and motivated to follow through with assignments, have strong interpersonal skills and solid computer skills. Proficiency with MS Word Office Suite programs is required. Experience with billing time, Relativity and/or Concordance is a plus. Candidates must have flexibility to work overtime, be a committed team player as well as a motivated self starter, be dependable and have the ability to work well under pressure while handling varied tasks within a busy legal environment.
