The general role for the Industrial Electrician is to install, maintain, and repair various electrical components within customer locations. The Industrial Electrician will be exposed to both low and high voltage electrical applications, and work in a wide array of industries including: Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Coal, Wind Energy, etc.

This individual will have the ability to represent Pillar Innovations out in the field and should maintain a positive attitude among co-workers and customers. This individual must be willing to work a flexible schedule in an industrial/commerical environment to include overtime and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial facilities, which could include but not be limited to wiring, conduit, fixtures, and electrical devices
• Install and test new equipment and systems
• Repair and maintain existing systems and equipment
• Repair, install and maintain 3-phase power, high voltage apparatus and electrical and electronic components and equipment
• Repair and install large electrical equipment, industrial fans, large motors, generators, control systems, grounding systems, etc.
• Read and follow electrical code, manuals, wiring and circuitry diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and other electrical specifications
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues, systems, and components independently with minimal direction and supervision
• Drive ground rods and trench for grounding grids
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment pertinent to the electrical trade
• Provide detailed paperwork and documentation for accurate record keeping, billing, and inventory

Qualifications

• 2 years of industrial electrical experience OR combination of schooling and training
• High School Diploma and relevant training at a Vo-Tech School with Certification
• State of West Virginia Journeyman License OR required to obtain within 6 months from hire
• Valid Driver’s License is required
• Possess basic knowledge of electrical theory and AC and DC circuits
• Ability to utilize tools and diagnostic devices
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, circuitry, and schematics
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing 
• Must be dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude
• Must be able to work well with co-workers and customers
