Pikes Peak Respite Services is Hiring a Direct Support Provider Near All Locations, CO

The Direct Support Professional is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall care of individuals with development disabilities in both the home and community setting. This includes direct care for individuals and implementation of individual plans and behavior plans.

We are currently looking for direct support professionals for several positions here at Pikes Peak Respite Services: Respite Care Provider, Mentor, Homemaker, Community Connectors, Child and Youth Mentors. (See our website for more details on these positions)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Communicate with administrative staff
  • Assists in the implementation of individual plans for individuals and behavioral plan goals in accordance with the service plan
  • Personal Care if needed
  • Prepare meals if needed
  • Provide reliable transportation if needed (dependent on service being provided)
  • Complete required documents/reports for services
  • Assists individuals in the pursuit of recreational, social and community activities based on their preferences and individual plans (dependent on service being provided)
  • Treats individuals with dignity and respect
  • Represents Family Pikes Peak Respite Services in a professional manner to families, service coordinators, and community partners

  • Communicate effectively

  • Provide services in accordance with the client’s Service Plan

  • Interreacts well with others
  • Ability to work independently
  • Interpersonal skills needed to effectively interact with persons with developmental disabilities
  • Problem solves effectively
    • Liability insurance (NSO insurance is really inexpensive for individuals)
    • Secretary of State registration (registering as whatever they incorporated as, LLC is the easiest and can be done really cheap through legal zoom)
    • Any licenses you have like CNA etc.

Employment Types

Part Time –

12-30 hours per week for non-family providers

Full Time –

31-40 hour per week 

Pay: $15-$23 Per hour

Pay will vary based on service provided

Benefits: Medical and PTO
