Position Title: Community Engagement Coordinator
Reports To: Executive Director
Status: Full-time, hourly, with benefits. Weekend and evening duties, as needed.
Salary range: $45,000 - $50,000 annually

Background:
PikeRide is a local, charitable 501c3 nonprofit and launched in 2018 with a fleet of pedal bikes and transitioned to a fully electric-assist bike fleet in 2019. PikeRide had over 120% increase in ridership during 2020, 60% increase during 2021 and is on target to increase ridership by another 50% before
2023.

Position overview:
As our Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for community outreach, events, and social media for PikeRide. The community engagement coordinator’s top priorities will be expanding ridership, educating the community, and developing and maintaining positive relationships with the community and our partners.

You will be hardworking and foster the development of creative ideas to solve everyday problems. You will be passionate about micromobility, PikeRide, and our mission of elevating our community with a fun, healthy, planet-friendly, and cost-effective way to get around. Your dedication and strong work ethic must be accompanied by great interpersonal and organizational skills. You bring a positive attitude, a good sense of humor, and know how to maximize impact. You are flexible and thrive in a constantly changing work environment.

Essential job functions:

  • Grow ridership and customer base among all rider types through outreach, education, and events.
  • Identify and nurture productive community partnerships while growing our workplace memberships program, residential properties network, and PikeRide for All.
  • Manage social media accounts and respond appropriately to community inquiries.
  • Plan, organize, and ensure PikeRide events are successful.

  • You have excellent organizational skills.
  • You have high emotional intelligence and are comfortable working in a wide variety of settings with diverse communities.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage external and internal stakeholders
  • You have proficient knowledge of Google G-Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • You are comfortable with and ability to learn new technology quickly.
  • You have an intimate knowledge of the Downtown Colorado Springs area.
  • You can enthusiastically adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • You can follow instructions; respond to management direction; communicate frequently; solicit feedback to improve performance.
  • You have a sense of humor and enjoy riding bicycles.
  • You have a valid driver's license.

Required skills:

  • 2 years of community engagement experience.
  • 2 years supporting the planning and organizing of small to medium sized events.
  • 1 year of managing multiple social media accounts.
  • Great with laptop computers, cell phones and the ability to navigate mobile apps. This also includes knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to a nonprofit organization focused on micromobility and enjoy riding a bicycle.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Dependable transportation for getting supplies to and from events is required.

Work environment and physical demands:

  • During the summer season you will spend 50% of your time in the field, at events, and representing PikeRide in the community which may not be during typical office hours (evenings and weekends), 35% of your time working from the office/shop, and 15% of your time working on social media.
  • Position may require hours which exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week.
  • Work and ride a bicycle outdoors in various temperatures including rain, cold, and heat conditions.
  • Position requires the use of a personal smartphone and knowledge of smartphone apps.
  • Lift up to 65 pounds; stoop, bend, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Operate a variety of standard office equipment that may require continuous and repetitive arm, hand, and eye movement.
