We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Event Manager within the Event Production Department of our Sports & Entertainment Services (SES) division. This position will be responsible for the planning and implementation of their assigned arena events, including games, concerts, and other live entertainment shows. This role is instrumental in executing a successful event and delivering on guest satisfaction, with an eye for overall management of the arena, its staff, and its equipment.

SES strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. As a key member of executing live entertainment events, this role will require a consistent in-person presence at the arena. Upon successful integration within the Event Production team and the ability to operate independently, this role may be eligible for a for a hybrid work arrangement. This option will allow the Event Manager to work remotely on dedicated, non-event days, as determined by the division leadership and business needs. Please note that all remote work must be performed within Arizona.


What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate any and all operational needs for events / shows / meetings and oversee the entire event planning process through pre-show planning, load-in, show, load-out and post-event wrap-up.
  • Strategically and creatively planning events to meet all the needs of the clients.
  • Plan and execute a variety of events, including concerts and sporting events, at a world-class level and with a focus on customer service, ranging from high-profile ticketed events to internal meetings
  • Enforce Footprint Center policies and procedures throughout each event and ensure compliance with ADA, local and state fire and safety ordinances.
  • Lead employees and ensure they understand expectations and parameters for event activities through timely and accurate written and verbal communication.
  • Utilize setup sheets, event reports, CAD maps and other event tools to create clear expectations for each event.
  • Determine needs and create schedule for event employees. Decide and delegate work among employees.
  • Mange outside vendors and contractors.
  • Lead SES operational departments in problem-solving and identifying ways to optimize efficiency; Set an example with a solution-oriented approach to difficult guest, client, and co-worker interactions.
  • Handle multiple and diverse events, projects, and tasks simultaneously.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with a wide variety of internal and external clients. Develop a rapport with operational departments to continually improve event execution and effectiveness.


What We Need From Our Event Manager:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Maintain sound decision-making and a positive attitude in stressful situations and in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Communicate changes effectively and efficiently and maintain an in-depth understanding of how each event decision impacts various departments.
  • Model a teamwork-centered approach to event management while demonstrating a high level of personal accountability and pride in work.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for departmental and event records.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance

Experience/ Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required
  • Previous experience planning and executing large, high-profile events required
  • AutoCAD experience preferred

  • Approximately 85% of the work in this role takes place in an indoor environment, away from the elements; this position is not eligible for remote consideration.
  • Medium Work – Lifting object up to 50 pounds. Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to bend, climb stairs and lift frequently.
  • Ability to continuously stand or walk.
  • Able to manipulate small hand tools.
  • May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud
  • Capable of listening carefully and speaking to others on the telephone/two-way radio
  • Communicating with others to exchange information
  • This role will require extended periods of time working in front of a computer screen
  • Ability to Read, Write & Speak in English
