The Phoenix - Sober Active Community is Hiring a Director of People Operations Near Boston, MA


You believe that the role of People Operations is to help foster win-win relationships between the employer and employees. Your ability to build partnerships, paired with your deep understanding of the value of diversity and equity, position you to foster a culture where all employees are growing their contributions and driving meaningful outcomes towards the organization's strategic goals.

The Phoenix has been growing rapidly over the last few years, and we've built our POPs team to support our over 100 employees, cover employee relations, people operations, and talent acquisition. Now it's time for us to add a Director of People Operations to our team-that's where you come in: you've got big ideas and we've got big projects to tackle. Up first, we will rely on your expertise to help us transform our HR systems. Join us and help us take our people operations practices to the next level. This role can be located in Boston, Denver or possibly another location depending on the candidate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure The Phoenix has the right talent practices and policies in place to ensure employee well-being
  • Lead the People Operations team
  • Maintain a solid point of view on our organization's talent position that is rooted in both skills and knowledge and also contribution to the culture of the organization
  • Implement new HR systems, processes, and best practices
  • Capture and analyze talent data in a meaningful way that helps drive moments of insight on where things are going well and where we need to prioritize focus and resources
  • Collaborate with leaders to create short, medium, and long-term talent plans to close existing talent gaps and ensure the right people are in the right roles
  • Partner with leaders to ensure that each staff member has a clear articulation of their role and responsibilities that is shared with their supervisor and rooted in how they create value
  • Learn and apply Principles Based Management© (PBM) to solve problems and drive better decisions within our organization
  • Travel approximately 8-12 days per year (more if not located in Denver or Boston)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience, including significant personnel management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence
  • Comfortability challenging business leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to be a strong leader
  • Track record of effective strategic thinking
  • Expertise in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) strategy and initiatives and a desire to apply anti-racism and anti-oppression principles and practices
  • Background in talent metrics
  • Bias towards action and ability to thrive in fast-paced and evolving environment

PREFERENCES

  • Background in project management
  • Competency with Excel and Microsoft Suite
  • Fluency in two or more languages

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • $120,000-$130,000 annually
  • 403(b) retirement plan with 4% match
  • Paid time off (vacation/sick days/skill enhancement days)
