Phoenix Contact is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II Near Middletown, PA

Job SummaryThe Manufacturing Engineer II will be providing support to the production department by creating and improving production processes. This includes design and implementation of tooling, fixtures, and machines to improve efficiency, ergonomics, and quality of many different processes. The person in this role will engage with production personnel as well as external vendors as they research and discover ways and means of improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implements fixtures and tooling to facilitate efficiency gains and cost reductions
  • Collaborates with manufacturing personnel to develop and optimize shop floor processes
  • Contributes to cost calculations and labor estimates with moderate supervision
  • Works with suppliers and integrators to specify, design, and procure production equipment
  • Supports manufacturing operations in daily activities when requested
  • Completes general manufacturing tooling drawings when required in CAD software
  • Incorporate new manufacturing methods or processes to improve existing operations

Must-Have Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent technical degree; Master’s Degree in Engineering preferred
  • Three to five years of experience in a factory environment
  • Proficient written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to implement drawings according to the Engineering Drawings specification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 2D Drawings and 3D Modeling
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing techniques
  • Demonstrated knowledge of corporate and industry standards
  • Demonstrate initiative by understanding what actions need to be taken and completing the required tasks while seeking the perspective of others as required
  • Demonstrate an honest and forthright presence by taking responsibility for own mistakes and not blaming others, and by doing what he / she commits to doing • Work as a team player to make a difference within the business and express gratitude and appreciation to others who have provided information, assistance or support
  • Readily handle change through taking advantage of lifelong learning opportunities and being open minded and curious in the face of new challenges

We Value

  • Prior experience with industrial cable manufacturing
  • Prior experience with injection molding of TPU materials
  • Automated machine design and acceptance experience
  • Tooling and fixture design experience

Must Be Able To…

  • Travel by air
  • Obtain passport
  • Occasionally travel overseas for extended periods required
  • Occasionally travel Domestically required
  • Sit for extended periods of time
  • Communicate effectively in English
  • Lift 25 lbs.
