Responsibilities

As a Quality Control Technician, you will uphold the safety of our company and supervise the production process to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our electronic products.

  • The QA Inspector Technician plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and compliance with established standards and specifications.
  • This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to conduct inspections and tests accurately.
  • The QA Inspector Technician will work closely with the quality assurance team to perform inspections, document findings, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform visual inspections, measurements, and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
  • Follow established inspection procedures and quality control guidelines to assess product conformity and identify any non-conformances.
  • Utilize various measurement and testing equipment to ensure accuracy and precision in inspections.
  • Record and maintain detailed inspection data, including test results, measurements, and observations.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to execute inspection plans and ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures.
  • Identify and communicate quality issues, deviations, or trends to the respective manager for corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of inspections, test results, and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production, to investigate and resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis activities to identify underlying causes of non-conformances and troubleshoot to resolve
  • Conduct mechanical/visual inspections based on acceptance test plans (ATP)
  • Utilize specific test equipment and operate standard testing instruments
  • Interpret assembly specifications, including work instructions, charts, drawings, diagrams, and engineering specifications, to understand requirements
  • Troubleshoot problems with electronics and make necessary repairs
  • Provide support for engineering development testing, research and development activities
  • Suggest testing procedures and potential product enhancements
  • Identify acceptance or rejection of items, record inspection data, and compare findings against specifications to ensure compliance with standards
  • Troubleshooting problems with electronics and making necessary repairs

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience work under microscope
  • 3-5 years prior quality inspection experience in the electronics field
  • Certification in IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
  • Proven experience as a QA Inspector Technician or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and measurement tools
  • Familiarity with quality standards and regulations relevant to the industry (e.g., ISO 9001, industry-specific standards)
  • Proficient in using measurement and testing equipment, such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, and optical comparators
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, report generation, and document management
  • Bachelor's degree in optical, electrical, or quality control discipline
  • CQI Certification (if no degree): Certified Quality Inspector from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) is a plus
  • Thorough understanding of quality control standards and testing methodologies (IPC610, IPC-620)
  • Knowledge of shop procedures, including recording results on production travelers and ERP systems
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and manufacturing instructions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as proficiency in computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office)
  • Must have US person status (U.S. citizenship, U.S. permanent resident, or "protected person" status under 8 U.S.C

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $24.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
