Job Summary: 

Teacher Assistant-AmeriCorps supports teachers in providing academic, enrichment, and social emotional lessons; as well as leads scholar citizenship development, guidance, and discipline for the Summer Advantage and Reading Advantage programs focusing on small group and one-on-one instruction.

Essential Job Tasks:

Minimum Job Experience and Skills:

• One (1) year or program season of experience working in a direct service position with youth
• Previous work/volunteer experience as an academic tutor or youth program provider
• Intermediate computer and internet skills

Minimum Education, Licensure and or Certification:

• 1-year advanced course work in the areas of education, social work, or a related field
• BA in education, social work, youth development or any related field, preferred
• Experience using Fountas and Pinnell Leveled LLI system, preferred
