Job title: Industrial Electrician

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Back up position: Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Supervisor

Department: Maintenance Department

Work location: Woodland, CA

Schedule: Swing Shift 2:00 PM- 10:30 PM

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non- Exempt

I - Job Purpose and Summary:

The primary objective of this role is to ensure that the right candidate has the fundamental values of safety, integrity, quality, passion, accountability, innovation, and performance. Test, modify, repair, install and alter processing and facilities electrical systems, equipment, and components. Respond to trouble calls throughout the processing area and entire facility. Make quick analysis of mechanical and electrical problems through proper troubleshooting techniques and use of various test equipment and schematics. Read and interpret blueprints to diagnose electrical problems to ensure needs are met.

II - Key Accountabilities:

  1. HSE: Promote a safe work environment at all times through the adherence to all PGPI’s Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures as well as to all relevant California OSHA regulations in order to achieve ZERO workplace incidents and injuries.
  2. Installs, repairs and tests electrical systems on industrial equipment including PLC control systems, power distribution, lighting, fire and security alarms and telephone systems to NEC specifications. 
  3. Work from technical manuals, schematics, drawings, sketches, SOPs, written and verbal instructions.
  4. Performs predictive maintenance on processing lines, packaging lines, and building facilities.
  5. Retrieve and close out PMs and work orders from CMMS system.
  6. Makes recommendations for PM adjustments and/or PM additions to equipment.
  7. Performs final system check out with full understanding of what the item does / is supposed to do.
  8. Performs monitoring of ladder logic programs for troubleshooting, monitoring input/output modules, modifications for process improvements and in conjunction with our third-party integrator, programming for new processes.
  9. Draft as built schematic drawings for future use, maintain equipment filing system, log, and report work order calibrations.
  10. Effectively communicate issues and resolutions with operators and management. Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

IV - Job Requirements (Required and Preferred):

Education

  • High School diploma or related experience

Related Experience

  • Efficient in sizing conductors, conduits and using NEC Code Book 
  • Experienced in handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC
  • Competent with installing, wiring and programming of VFD’s and DC drives
  • Competent with troubleshooting PLC’s and Ladder Logic 
  • Experienced in Process Controls 
  • Diagnose and apply results using: Voltmeters, ammeters, IR and megger 
  • Familiar with current Arc Flash regulations 
  • Position may require employee to work around and troubleshoot energized equipment

Competencies

  • Comply with all PGPI Safety, Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures by reporting non-compliance.
  • Follow all PGPI security policies and procedures and report any nonconformities.
  • Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity 

Technical Skills

  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Suite products, and CMMS

Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing warehouse environment. This role routinely uses manufacturing equipment. The environment is hot, cold, wet, dusty, and loud. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment on the manufacturing floor (hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, beard/hair nets, safety shoes). Position may require exposure to various adverse conditions such as heat, cold, noise, dust, fumes, dirt, grease, and chemical substances.

Physical and Sensory Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms overhead and grip; climb stairs, work from heights up to 40 feet; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 55 pounds.

RFT - Regular Full Time, working schedule based on production demands.
