Job Description

PCI is seeking an entrepreneurial and operations-minded Regional Controller based in San Diego, California to support branches in Southern California. This individual’s primary role is to function as a key member of the management team by providing branch and operations management with timely, accurate financial and operating information. The position is responsible for implementing and overseeing financial systems and controls in branch operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with operations to provide on-going financial analysis of all Contracts in Progress through the use and maintenance of financial controls, labor productivity reporting and project walk-through
  • Ability to identify areas of potential process improvement and work with operations management and staff to implement measures which will add a clear value to branches
  • Maintain strong partnership with General Managers and branch leadership in support of strategic and financial plans
  • Take lead on forecasting and budgeting on an annual and monthly basis
  • Assist in ensuring the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and sub-ledgers
  • Prepare written reports for branch/operations management, operations management and senior leadership of the company
  • Attend and participate in branch meetings including staff meetings, CIP meetings, sales meetings, pre-job set-up meetings and project review meetings

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in management, finance and/or operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline, or comparable work experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate across organizational functions
  • Ability to take ownership - identify and execute what needs to be done with minimal oversight
  • Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines and exhibit flexibility to change
  • High level of professionalism with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Willing to travel on a minimal basis

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in the construction industry preferred
