Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer - Mid in McLean, VA to support Intelligence Community and DoD customers as part of a talented, high-performing team. As part of this team you will work with emerging service and distributed computing technologies for satellite situational awareness (SSA) data processing and distribution.
What you'll do:
- Design, prepare, deploy, and maintain private clouds and virtualization environments, including Red Hat OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization/Red Hat Hyperconverged Infrastructure, and Rancher RKE
- Prepare, deploy, and maintain storage environments for virtualized environments
- Provide guidance in security operations
- Assist in troubleshooting and recovery of failed hardware components
- Work with customer to plan and schedule maintenance windows for tasks such as firmware upgrades
- Automate repetitive and complex tasks with Ansible
- Maintain Microsoft Active Directory Domain Controllers
- Deploy and maintain applications in support of infrastructure operations, such as Red Hat Satellite, and Red Hat Identity Management
- Deploy and maintain applications for CI/CD pipelines, such as GitLab, GitLab Runners, Jenkins, and Sonatype Nexus
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Proficient with Red Hat flavored Operating Systems
- Proficient with virtualization technologies, must have demonstrated experience in Red Hat OpenStack
- A solid understanding of security concepts, especially Public Key Infrastructure, and operating system hardening concepts
- Experience with automating system administration tasks
- Active CompTIA Security CE certification or working toward certification
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft Active Directory
- Proficient with Ansible Automation
- Experience in Red Hat Virtualization and Kubernetes

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
