Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Splunk Engineer to work in the Chantilly, Virginia area. This Engineer will work closely with our Data Engineering team to design and develop high quality Splunk apps and dashboards that deliver meaningful information to end users. This Engineer will use creativity and data engineering knowledge to create advanced visualizations of the process flows and of the meta data of multiple large datasets.

Key Job Functions:

• Writing /editing and testing scripts and custom complex SPL queries
• Automation and visualization of various metrics and statistics derived from dataset meta data.
• Creating Splunk apps and dashboards for end users
• Analysis of datasets and collections to inform Splunk app and dashboard creation.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an IT-related field with 8-10 years of experience in systems or data engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience designing and developing Splunk apps and dashboards.
• Experience writing complex SPL queries for dashboards, reports and apps
• Experience developing custom apps for end users in Splunk
• Expert knowledge of core Splunk Enterprise
• Knowledge and experience working with Splunk API
• Experience in Linux command line environment
• Experience with one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python, Java)
• Experience with scripting language (Perl, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Shell)
• High proficiency with writing and using Regular Expressions (regex)
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

- Familiarity with the AWS Cloud environment

- Familiarity with the Apache NiFi

Salary Range

Salary Minimum: $72,500 Salary Mid: $145,000 Salary Maximum: $181,300 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Peraton provides a variety of benefits to employees.
