Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a Software QA Engineer (Software Tester). This position is in support of the MITES/MEPCOM program based in Northern Chicago, Illinois. May consider a 100% remote/telework arrangement.

Job Responsibilities

• Independently develops and executes test scripts written in Selenium to ensure that quality software is provided for release to production and to certify system changes
• Produces expert level test plan documents and requirements
• Performs solution testing confirming to requirements
• Distributes test data from control database to development staff to satisfy adequate unit testing
• Develops, compiles, documents and runs automated test scripts and test procedures
• Runs regression tests
• Tracks status of defects
• Provides quality assurance testing for all systems to ensure the development and distribution of quality products
• Assists with roll-out of systems documentation
• Produces lists of defects that are to be resolved and incorporated into future releases of the application as required
• Communicates with analysts and programmers about formal testing plans, problems, and results
• Develops technical documentation and reports
• Manages the Release Management process for all changes to the baseline IT infrastructure

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachlor's degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science or equivalent and a minimum BS 8-10 Years OR MS 6-10. May consider 4 years additional experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 12 years of recent experience as a Tester working with Agile software development teams
• Experienced in Selenium, AWS cloud architecture and knowledge using JIRA and Confluence tools
• Experienced with the following languages; JAVA, Python, and Ruby
• Experienced software developer with a concentration on testing
• Ability to write custom test scripts in Selenium
• Possess the following (current) certifications: Certified Software Tester
• Current IAT Level II certification: (CompTIA Security CE. CCMA Security, SSCP, GSEC)
• US Citizenship required
• Must have a recent National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation and the ability to pass additional background investigations

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science or related discipline
• 12 years of recent experience writing scripts supporting software
• Experience supporting DoD customer 's Information Technology environment (software development, testing, implementation, sustainment)
• Additional current certifications in addition to the basic requirement
• Currently possesses an Active DoD clearance

Salary Range

Salary Minimum: $57,500 Salary Mid: $115,000 Salary Maximum: $143,800 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Peraton provides a variety of benefits to employees.
