Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Software Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The Software Developer will work as a scripting and automation expert to support clients solving difficult problems leveraging PowerShell, Python or equivalent languages. Peraton serves as a valued partner to essential government agencies across the intelligence, space, cyber, defense, civilian, health, and state and local markets. Customer would prefer individuals to live within a commutable distance from San Diego, CA but may consider tele-worker that meets or exceeds requirements. 

What you'll do:

• Perform as an integrated team partner to build holistic solutions for the client to save time, money, and resources.
• Drive towards implementing and realizing the benefits of datacenter automation, including continuous integration (CI) or continuous delivery (CD), and Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) across multiple data centers, enterprise services or systems, and enclaves, including Cloud environments.
• Lead efforts to optimize current and future infrastructure to transform systems and processes for increased speed to delivery along with increased reliability and availability.
• Research, install, configure and maintain automated test frameworks to support CI and CD through functional, regression and system integration testing.
• Perform automated build, deployment and release automation, and orchestration to increase automation across planning, engineering, and sustainment stages.
• Function as a subject matter expert in updating and automating traditional analytical techniques through scripting and automation and apply expertise to parsing, analyzing and displaying complex data sets.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree with 8-10 years, Master's degree with 6-8 years, PhD with 3-5 years or HS with 11 -13 years of experience
• 2 years of experience with Python and PowerShell scripting program languages and automation
• 2 yrs of experience with networking, server infrastructure, or database operations and troubleshooting
• 2 yrs of experience as a platform solution engineer in mid-size to large-scale IT systems and solutions
• Experience with configuring and integrating Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, SQL, and enterprise network services
• Experienced in written and presentation skills to support engineering documentation, solution drawings in Visio and leadership briefs
• Ability to occasionally travel internationally and support an OCONUS network.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold an Active/Current DoD Secret Clearance

Certification(s) Required:

• IA certification (Sec /CASP/CISSP or equivalent)
• Platform operational experience cert/training

Qualifications Preferred:

• AWS or Azure Cloud Technologies
• AWS Tools for Windows PowerShell
• Agile and DevOps development methodologies
• Experience with build, deployment and release automation, and orchestration, including scripted server builds
• Automation tools, including Selenium, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, and Ansible
• Establishing and improving infrastructure supporting production, test, and development systems
• Supporting and analyzing daily processes, including testing, backup, and deployment
• Working with data trend and pattern analysis, including visualization using Python, D3, or other relevant language
• Supporting DoD programs and systems with STIG implementation
• Microsoft Windows Server
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts
• Knowledge of automation and process improvement through programming holistic solutions, including identifying and implementing automation that delivers value
