Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Scrum Master (Entry-level) in our Herndon, VA location in support of our Independent Research & Development (IRAD) program.

Join our Technology and Engineering Software Delivery Center and support exciting projects across Peraton in areas such as communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, health, cloud, and digital transformation. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive environment that allows you to grow your skills and your career while building experience in a variety of different projects and domains.

The initial assignment will involve serving as the Scrum Master for multiple projects supporting research and development within a Peraton mission capability area and include tasks such as:

• Leading and coordinating team participation in all Agile ceremonies.
• Prioritizing features, user stories, and identifying team velocity.
• Working with Product Owners to identify priorities, participate in Sprint Reviews, Backlog Refinement, and lead team daily stand-up meetings.
• Working collaboratively among cross-functional teams to execute timely releases of code.
• Providing support to the Technical Director, the Release Train Engineer (RTE), and Senior Leadership. Coordinating across teams to facilitate synergy and success for Peraton research projects.
• Leading teams in working on unusually complex technical problems and providing product solutions in accordance with Agile Methodologies.
• Creating and updating user stories in Jira/Confluence.
• Submitting status reports and deliverables.
• Developing and delivering working level and senior leadership briefs.
• Understanding Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) processes and how to utilize these within day-to-day activities.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and coordinating change management activities to enhance increase overall system velocity.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• US Citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT or engineering related field and 0-2 years of experience.
  • December 2022 grads are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Experience working with Agile development tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, and/or Artifactory.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to foster collaborative relationships at all levels of engineering and management.
• Ability to resolve project impediments quickly and accurately.
• Good organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize work and multitask.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• At least one year of experience in the IT field working on an Agile development team as a Scrum Master or practitioner.
  • This can be satisfied with internship experience for entry-level candidates.
• Existing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience and certifications, or similar.

Colorado Salary Minimum: $45,900 Colorado Salary Maximum: $111,300 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
