Responsibilities Peraton is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to work in the Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center (JDPAC) at USTRANSCOM with a mission to provide analysis support to improve the nation's ability to move and sustain our forces throughout the globe. In this role, you will: * Formulate and produce comprehensive end-to-end analysis of mobility capabilities and requirements using US Transportation Command approved suite of Modeling, Simulation and Optimization (MS&O) tools.
* Analyze actual and predictable interacting operational activities of business to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques. * Devise modeling and measuring techniques; utilize mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.), and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines.
* Provide analytic and model expertise to select data sources and incorporate data with modeling to provide replication of real world model outputs for programmatic analysis to include such support as analytic support to command and DoD for JDDE mobility assessments in preparation of DOD scenarios.Key responsibilities include: * Provide analytical support for the Programmatics Division in the Analytics Directorate of US Transportation Command using modeling, simulation and optimization tools. * Provide testing and evaluation for software updates to the Government-Off-The-Shelf modeling and simulation tools.
* Support the Analysis of Mobility Platform (AMP) Setup Team (ASUT) with model setups to represent various Operational Plan (OPLAN) demand signals and Concept of Operations.
* Review, understand and represent DoD mobility concept of operations within the modeling and simulation tool framework.
* Produce papers, reports and briefings describing the study formulation, mobility demand signals and modeling and simulation insights.
* Gather data from variety of sources and conduct efficient data analysis of modeling and simulation results.
* Able to manage multiple tasks with competing timelines and deliverables.
* Have strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
#JDPAC Qualifications Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or similar fields with 2 years' experience, or a Masters degree. * Must enjoy working in a team environment with frequent customer contact and have excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent analytical, quantitative reasoning, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
* U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.Preferred Qualifications: * Active DoD Secret clearance.
